Kathmandu. The Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) has been in turmoil in Khotang after the district chairman of the party, who was appointed as the election commander, joined the Labor Culture Party.
A group of 37 members led by Chairman Nirmal Rai has joined the Labour Culture Party led by Harka Sampang. Among those who joined the party are Diktel Rupakot Majhuwagadhi Municipality-10 Patheka ward chair Mugadhan Rai, district member Rajan Rai and former chair of Khotang-Kathmandu Liaison Committee Prithiraj Rai, among others.
Nirmal Rai, the district chairman of the Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP), is the former ward chairman of Rupakot Majhuwagadhi Municipality-5, Lafyang. Likewise, Mugadan has been elected as the ward chairman for two consecutive terms.
Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) candidate Rakesh Rai is in trouble after his district chairman joined another party during the election campaign for the House of Representatives scheduled for March 4. The Labour and Culture Party has fielded Aren Rai as its direct candidate in Khotang.
The JSP has entrusted the responsibility of the party chairman to Gururaj Rai after the party chairman who was in charge of the election left the party.
NC Khotang Organization Department Chief Also Joined Labour Culture Party
Likewise, Bishnu Raj Rai, chief of NC Khotang Organization, has also joined the Labour and Culture Party.
Bishnu Raj, who was expelled for five years for contesting a rebel in the 2070 Constituent Assembly (CA) election, finally chose the Shram Sanskriti Party.
Nirmal and Bishnu Raj, who were in the forefront of the identity movement despite being in different parties in the past, have stood together.
Nirmal was the coordinator of Kirat Force Khotang during the movement called for the renaming of Koshi as Kirat Province. The Kirat Force was ‘rollcalled’ by former Nepal Army officer Dhaniram Nchung. Nachung has already joined the Labour and Culture Party and has reached the post of secretary.
