Election materials transported to all 165 constituencies in final stage

Kathmandu. Election materials have reached all 165 places across the country for the election to the member of the House of Representatives scheduled for March 4.

Assistant Spokesperson of the Election Commission, Kul Bahadur GC, said that a total of 41.11 million ballot papers were distributed in all 165 constituencies of 77 districts. Preparations for the election to the House of Representatives are in the final stage.

According to the work schedule approved by the Commission, the managerial works are scheduled and run on time. The printing of ballot papers for first-past-the-post electoral system and proportional representation system has been completed in all 77 districts. Some of the materials will be managed in the district. According to the EC, all the materials will be handed over to the returning officer from the office of the returning officer.

As per the approved programme, a special programme on voter education has been underway since February 17. Voter education would be conducted in 6,743 wards of 753 local levels till March 2. Mechanisms including the Central Code of Conduct Monitoring Committee have been actively carrying out works while giving continuity to the monitoring and enforcement of the election code of conduct.

The political parties have started their main election publicity activities from February 17. The EC has already directed the political parties and candidates to make the publicity publicity campaign in a decent and dignified manner in accordance with the prevailing laws and code of conduct.
