Kathmandu. The Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) index posted a double-digit fall on Thursday. On Thursday, the NEPSE index increased by 6.03 points to close at 2,654.93 points.
A total of 1.53 crore units of shares of 335 companies were traded in the market today. A total of Rs 4.17 billion worth of shares was traded during the day’s trading.
Among the companies traded today, the price of shares of 137 companies increased while the price of 118 companies decreased. However, the share prices of 7 companies remained stable.
Salapa Bikas Bank was the top gainer today, with its share price rising 9.99 per cent to Rs 584.50 per share. Similarly, the price of Reliance Spinning Mills has increased by 9.26 percent and Himstar by 6 percent.
The indices of hotels, manufacturing, microfinance and mutual funds decreased while the rest of the groups increased. The non-life insurance group increased the most by 1.06 percent.
Api Power Company topped the list on the basis of turnover today. The company’s shares worth Rs 32.68 crore were traded. Similarly, Ankhukhola Hydropower Company Ltd and SY Panel Ltd had a turnover of Rs 21.13 crore.
