Kathmandu. Both domestic and international flights will be allowed to operate as usual on the day of the House of Representatives elections scheduled for March 21.
KATHMANDU — The Election Commission has taken several decisions regarding election security and necessary facilitation in the voting process. In the meantime, the Commission has written a letter to the Ministry of Home Affairs to create an environment conducive for the operation of flights. As per the decision, domestic and international flights will operate as usual on the day of voting.
The NHRC has also asked the Home Ministry to make arrangements allowing passengers with tickets of domestic and international flights to use the vehicles provided by the private and related airlines while travelling from the airport to the hotel where they stay.
In the previous elections, there was a practice of shutting down the domestic flights. Accordingly, the Nepal Tourism Board had also issued a travel advisory.
