Kathmandu. The Election Commission (EC) has warned of stern action against teachers, professors and employees of educational institutions involved in election campaigning.
Spokesperson of the Election Commission, Narayan Prasad Bhattarai, said that stern action would be taken against the teachers, professors and employees for their involvement in the publicity campaign of any political party or candidate.
The EC has also warned the teachers and professors not to indulge in such activities as the election code of conduct and legal provisions have provisions for taking action against them from holding their posts.
The EC has also warned all sides concerned to fully abide by the election code of conduct.
Spokesperson Bhattarai said that the meeting reminded the Election Commission to monitor the full compliance of the election code of conduct by the District Code of Conduct Monitoring Committee, the Election Officer, the Election Code of Conduct Monitoring Officer and the Election Office.
