Kathmandu. The Supreme Court (SC) has ordered the production of documents related to Pappu Construction owner Hari Narayan Rauniyar in a corruption case. A division bench of Justices Manoj Kumar Sharma and Mahesh Sharma Poudel issued the order to bring the documents destroyed in the arson attack on September 4.
After the recovery of the burnt documents, the court will schedule another hearing for the hearing. After being convicted by the Special Court on the charge of constructing sub-standard bridges, 8 people including Hari Narayan Rauniyar had filed an appeal on different dates.
Likewise, the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) had filed an appeal at the Supreme Court naming 11 persons as defendants. The Supreme Court is hearing the appeals of both the parties together.
The Special Court on Tuesday sentenced Hari Narayan Rauniyar and his son Sumit Rauniyar (Pappu) to life imprisonment in a case filed by the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) on the charge of constructing sub-standard bridges constructed by Pappu Construction.
The Special Court had slapped a fine of Rs 3.5 crore each on Harinarayan and his son.
