Kathmandu. Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) Chairman Rajendra Lingden has urged voters to understand the power of their vote and think seriously before casting their vote.
Addressing an election gathering in Butwal today, he said vote is power and one should think a thousand times while handing over it. Lingden noted that in the past, voters have voted under false assurances, a few litres of petrol, a few hundred rupees, or the lure of fish and meat and alcohol.
Lingden warns that if the leaders in power do not come to a new understanding and do not correct their mistakes, the country will collapse. Chairman Lingden pointed out the need for a new understanding among the king, political parties and the younger generation. He argued that an environment should be created for the country to win by ending the politics of negation. He sought the support of the voters to make RPP a strong force in the parliament. Claiming that the RPP has a clear plan to build the country, Lingden said that the face of the country would change within 5-6 years if it works in a corruption-free manner.
Chairman Lingden claimed that he had not indulged in corruption even a single penny in his political career and reminded that he had played a role in the investigation into the Pokhara International Airport corruption scam.
“I have been saying everywhere that votes are power. It’s a matter of transfer of power. Therefore, every voter should think about who he is handing over his power to. Till today, we have been putting in a few liters of petrol, sometimes a few hundred, a few thousand, alcohol, fish, meat, relatives or a party carried by a grandfather in false assurances. Now is the time to vote. On top of that, this vote has come in a special situation.
That’s why I’m here to say that you should think a thousand times before you vote. You must have heard about the faces of people in every neighborhood who have come to make happy bargains. You also greet you. Before the elections, let’s make a new understanding between the king, political parties and the younger generation, settle the issues that are not common in the country, we have gone on the politics of negation for a long time.
Now, let’s move forward with a new understanding that the country will win and go to the elections. We said that if this happens, then no one will have to revolt in the future, no one will have to agitate. But today, the country is forcibly moving towards elections. We are still trying to get all the political forces to come to a national consensus and go to the elections by making an understanding that the elections should be held after two months, five months and six months. ’
He also urged the supporters of Congress, UML and CPN (Maoist Centre) to vote on the RPP’s election symbol ‘Halo’. He also appealed to all to participate in the campaign to save the country by voting for RPP under the first-past-the-post and proportional representation system.
