. KhemKumari Bhurtel (Urmila), a founding member of the Rastriya Swatantra PartyTAG_CLOSE_span_3(RPP) and a candidate for the FPTP in the last general election, has resigned from the party. She has left the party expressing dissatisfaction with the party’s working style.

In her resignation letter, she has stated that she has been continuously contributing selflessly to the party as the only woman candidate from Madhes Province who was the first-past-the-post candidate in the general election 2079 BS.TAG_OPEN_p_6 However, she accused the party of indulging in sycophancy and economic interests against the rules and regulations, confining capable women and youths to slogans and neglecting them where they should have taken responsibility.

According to him, it has been felt that corruption has increased in the party and the methodology, decision and working style adopted by the party regarding the upcoming elections on March 4 are against the established values, party statute and public commitments.TAG_OPEN_p_5

According to him, his self-respect and political values have been hurt due to lack of proper appreciation of the contribution of cadres who have been working day and night in the organization, activities against the rules and regulations and financial irregularities affecting the party’s decisions.TAG_OPEN_p_4 Stating that the party rank and file and the general public were aware of her contribution when the party was in crisis, she said the party rank and file could not remain silent by witnessing such activities.
