Rastriya SwatantraTAG_CLOSE_span_3 Party (RPP) Madhes Province President Mamata Sharma has announced her resignation from the party.Sharma, who is also the founding president of Madhes Province and currently a member of the Central Women and Social Development Department, quit the party expressing dissatisfaction over the party’s working style.
Stating that she joined the party being inspired by the slogan ‘Younger generation should come into politics and choose those who know about it’, she said in her resignation letter that she felt that the process, decision-making and working style adopted by the party regarding the upcoming March 4 election was against the values of the establishment, party statute and public commitment.TAG_OPEN_p_6
According to him, the lack of proper appreciation of the contribution of the capable cadres who have been working day and night in the organization, activities against the rules and regulations, non-implementation of the party’s principles in practice and the party’s decisions have been affected mainly due to financial irregularities.TAG_OPEN_p_5
Sharma, a resident of Bara, was earlier hoping for a ticket for the House of Representatives election.TAG_OPEN_p_4 She had also applied for the proportional representation category. Although she was successful in getting her name from the third position in the primary election, she refused to be included in the PR list saying that her name was included in the seventh position when the final list was prepared.
