Kathmandu. Coordinator of the Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said that it was his dream to connect Rukum (East) with China by a pitched road.
Speaking at a programme organised at Maikot in Putha Uttarganga rural municipality-1, Dahal said, “We have a plan to pitch the ‘Shaheed Marg’ from Dang to the China border from Sahartara. He estimated that the area including Maikot would be developed as a tourist hub after the construction of this road.
The route has been started in memory of those killed in the armed conflict. Prachanda said,
“During the People’s War, I had proposed to construct a road from south to north in the name of martyrs. The decision was taken by the party, the people were called and the path was started voluntarily. After the peace agreement, the route was made a state. Now, my dream is to pitch it and give it access to Maikot and other places like a city star and develop the area into a tourist center. ”
He also recalled that he had proposed the Mid-Hill Highway during his first term as the Prime Minister and the budget was allocated for it.
His team reached Maikot via Taksera, Birgum, Pipaltung, Khaire, Dimmur Gahira, Mayang and Hukam. The team will reach Naigad of Sisne rural municipality-2 via Kol, Golkhada, Rangsi, Nakhan, Jamabagar in the coming days.
