Election Commission writes to Press Council to take action against ‘Setopati’

Kathmandu. The Election Commission has written to the Press Council to take action against ‘Setopati Online’.

The EC has written a letter to the EC for taking action against the news for violating the election code of conduct. The EC has also objected to the news headlined ‘Sobita Gautam will win election in Chitwan-3: Renu Dahal second’ and ‘Balen’s argument about settlements near the national park is wrong’ published by Setopati in Chitwan-3.

“The Election Code of Conduct, 2082 (2082) has stated that the election code of conduct prohibits poll of a candidate or political party from the date of registration of nomination to the date of registration of nomination and until the voting is completed, nor to declare or publish the results of such a survey,” reads the EC’s letter. It is requested that necessary action be taken as per the decision. ’
