Kathmandu. Acting Chief Election Commissioner of the Election Commission Ram Prasad Bhandari has stressed the need of making the voters aware during the main trainer training workshop on election and mass communication organized in the capital on Friday.
Bhandari said that it is imperative to provide training to the voters. The election was announced in the wake of the insurgency on September 23 and 24 and its aftermath. It’s not a periodic election, it’s an advance election. The objective of this election is to return the country to the rhythm of discipline and elect a person capable of maintaining peace and security and delivering good governance. ’
“If a voter is deprived of voting, it will be like being deprived of what he or she wants to do,” he said. Only your vote can elect a qualified person who can deliver good governance. So vote freely. ’
Election Commissioner Bhandari also stressed the importance of the role of media in making voters aware. According to him, the media in different places should inform every voter about the right to vote and its impact.
The trainers also received practical training on voter education action plan, challenges involved in election process and communication strategies.
