KATHMANDU: Police have arrested five persons including four women on the charge of cheating people on the pretext of sending them abroad for foreign employment on the pretext of lucrative salary. The arrestees have been identified as Bina Maharjan, 43, and Binda Maharjan, 45, of Kirtipur Municipality-2, Kathmandu, Kopila Sharma, 43, of Kathekhola Rural Municipality-2, Baglung, currently residing in Chandragiri, Dhankuta Municipality-2, Santosh Rai, 31, of Dhankuta Municipality-26, and Kumari Tamang, 48, of Kavre, Chorideurali Municipality-9, currently residing in Budhanilkantha, Kathmandu.TAG_OPEN_p_32 According to the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office, they have been out of contact after extorting Rs 370,TAG_OPEN_p_31 000 to Rs 13.60 lakh from the victims on the pretext of sending them to the US, UK, Cambodia and Portugal.
