Kathmandu. Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) President Rabi Lamichhane has described the upcoming elections as a decisive opportunity to change the country’s political history. Stating that change in the country was not possible without the leadership of youth, he said the time has come to limit the old political parties to history.
Addressing an election assembly at Khaireni in Rupandehi constituency-1 today, Lamichhane said that the current election is not only a normal political process but an opportunity to write the future of the country.TAG_OPEN_p_13 “This is not a meeting, it is a gathering. The country has got the opportunity to write history, such an opportunity is rare,” he said.
He said that although many candidates had won in the previous elections, the country could not achieve the expected results. “Many times many candidates won, but the country did not. We are out to make the country win,” Lamichhane said.
Nobody should ignore the power of the people, he said, accusing the leaders who came to power in the past being entangled in their own history and power-centric politics.TAG_OPEN_p_11 “People are no longer in a position to trust such leaders,” he said.
Talking about the unity and internal understanding within the RSP, Lamichhane claimed that the new generation has stood together rising above the politics of position and division.TAG_OPEN_p_10 “We have come together as new friends without sharing the position,” he clarified.
Stating that the formation of a stable government was the main agenda of the party, he pledged to form a stable government with a single prime minister for the next five years.TAG_OPEN_p_9 “A stable government of 5 years is needed to free the country from political instability,” he said.
He said that party general secretary Sunil Lamsal has been fielded as the candidate from Rupandehi-1 and urged the voters to make him victorious.TAG_OPEN_p_8 He also directed the party cadres to take forward the election campaign as a people’s campaign.
