. The government has decided to observe the National Democracy Day for three days. In commemoration of the establishment of democracy in Nepal following the end of the Rana autocracy on 7th Falgun 7, 2007, various programmes are to be organized throughout the country on Falgun 6, 7 and 8.
The meeting presided over by Prime Minister Sushila Karki at Singha Durbar today decided to observe the Democracy Day for three days and formed the main organizing committee.TAG_OPEN_p_5 The members of the committee include government ministers, mayors of all municipalities in the Kathmandu Valley, chief secretary, army chiefs, secretaries and chiefs of Nepal Police, Armed Police Force and National Investigation Department.
The Secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs will be the member-secretary of the committee.TAG_OPEN_p_4 As per the decision, various programs will be organized in Nepali embassies, diplomatic missions and consulates abroad along with government bodies across the country.
The government has decided to organize the main celebration of the Democracy Day at the Army Pavilion, Tundikhel.TAG_OPEN_p_3
