Man arrested with 65 tolas of gold from Nagarjun in Kathmandu

Kathmandu. Police have arrested a person in possession of 65 tolas of gold from Mahankal area of Nagarjun municipality-6 in Kathmandu. The arrested person is Prem Chaudhary of Banke, according to the District Police Range, Kathmandu.

According to police, Chaudhary had stolen gold ornaments worth Rs 10.4 million from the house of Rinji Lama in Bouddha on Tuesday.TAG_OPEN_p_5 Police arrested him at Nagarjun area last night following him following a series of thefts that took place in different parts of Kathmandu.

When the police tried to arrest him, Chaudhary attacked the police and was forced to open fire.TAG_OPEN_p_4 A police constable sustained minor injuries in the incident.

Police confiscated 65 tolas of gold, some silver, cash and homemade weapons from Chaudhary.TAG_OPEN_p_3 Police said that further investigation is underway as the cases of theft have been increasing in Kathmandu in recent period.
