KATHMANDU — Prime Minister Sushila Karki has said the election would be held on time.
He said that the government was trying to hold the elections at any cost. He said that the second phase of the election would be held if the election was postponed due to some reasons. He said that the election would be held by ferrying people to places where vehicles could be used if there were any complications due to cold in the mountainous districts. He said that the election would be held at any time and the power would be handed over to the new government after the election of new representatives. According to him, around Rs 32 billion will be spent on the election this time.
“The government will hold the elections at any cost. If it stops somewhere, it will be done in the second phase. If there is less space, resources can also be used. We can also transport people by using resources. If there is a situation where it cannot happen, then it should be considered in that way. But the election takes place anyway. It’s like an emergency.
Elections should be held at any cost. When the election is held, the people will vote and new representatives will come. They are the ones who run the country. The election will not be postponed, why postpone it and spend Rs 31, 32 billion at this time. Not in all elections. Who is lacking what? The expenses of the election while meeting the lack of material resources. I think that is being spent so much now, help is coming from different countries. If that help had not come to this situation, it would have been on the other side. ’
Prime Minister Karki said the government was serious and cautious to hold the election in a peaceful manner
