Kathmandu Metropolitan City’s VIP lift opens for all under the direction of Sunita Dangol

. The VIP lift at Kathmandu Metropolitan City’s Kamaladi-based office will now be accessible to all. KMC Assistant Spokesperson Dhruba Kumar Kafle said that the service recipients have been able to board the lift by removing the password kept in the lift as per the instructions of Acting Mayor Sunita Dangol. The password of the elevator was removed on January 6.

Initially, only TAG_OPEN_p_7 the mayor, deputy mayor and chief administrative officer could use the lift. Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has three lifts in operation at its Kamaladi office. The VIP lift was built in August 2081 and was not in use for the general public since then.

TAG_OPEN_p_6 There are two office buildings in the metropolis. One building houses the offices of the mayor, deputy mayor and chief administrative officer, while the other half houses the offices of various departments, branches and divisions. The new elevator provides access from the third to the sixth floor.

The general public will now be able to use the lift to reach the office of the mayor, deputy mayor or chief administrative officer.TAG_OPEN_p_5 Earlier, the service recipients were compelled to use the stairs as the lift was ‘locked’.
