Kathmandu. Sindhuli: Police have seized a huge cache of narcotics and arrested a person.
According to the District Police Office, Sindhuli, the contraband injections were found after a microscopic check was detected during a traffic check at Bhiman of Kamalamai municipality-9 in the district.
A joint team deployed from the Area Police Office, Bhiman and a team of Narcotics Control Bureau branch office, Bardibas were checking the vehicles on Saturday night. Meanwhile, an EV hi-bus en route to Kathmandu from Janakpur was intercepted and a person was arrested with narcotics.
According to the police, Deep Narayan Sah, 48, of Mathiyani Municipality-8, Mahottari, who was riding the vehicle, was carrying a bag carrying black paint on the back of the vehicle. Police said that three packets wrapped in yellow tape in black plastic were found inside the bag and various types of injections were concealed from these packets.
The recovered materials include 300 tablets of Buprenorphine injection, 300 amps of diazepam injection and 300 amples of promethazine injection. Preliminary investigations suggest that these injections are being smuggled illegally.
The arrested persons have been kept at the Area Police Office, Bhiman after completing the necessary legal process while investigation has been intensified to identify the source, destination and other people involved in the drugs.
