Kathmandu. The month-long Swasthani fast has concluded this morning. KATHMANDU: The Madhav Narayan Mela that runs from Poush Shukla Purnima to Magh Shukla Purnima every year concluded this morning after taking bath at Triveni Dham at Hanumanghat in Bhaktapur.
The devotees concluded their month-long fast with the rituals of Madhav Narayan after taking a bath at Triveni Dham early in the morning. There is a tradition that the person observing the Madhavnarayan fast should fast from the day before the start of the fast, take a bath in the Triveni early in the morning and worship with pure water and worship materials. There is also a religious belief that one should chant mantras after consuming conch water, one should not touch anyone after consuming conch water and one should not wear shoes.
