Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: The Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) has padlocked the management room of Nagarik daily this morning.
The Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) padlocked the office on Wednesday after the FNJ management failed to pay heed to their legitimate demands from time to time.
The Federation has also padlocked the office of Managing Director and CEO of Nagarik Daily and demanded implementation of perks, remuneration and labour agreement as per the Labour Act.
According to the federation, they were compelled to take the step of padlocking after the management ignored the efforts of dialogue for a long time.
On the other hand, the management of Nagarik Daily has filed a case at the High Court against the central committee of the Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) and the chairperson of the civic chapter.
Earlier, a case has been filed against 3 employees for demanding remuneration for their work. The FNJ has also warned that the agitation will continue until the rights of working journalists are guaranteed.
