Kathmandu. Four people have been arrested for cheating employees of mobile banking service Khalti.
The arrested have been identified as Shubham Kumar Jha, Aniket Kumar Yadav, Pawan Kumar Chaudhary and Rishi Ganga.
They were arrested by a team from the District Police Range, Bhaktapur. They said, “I am an employee of Khalti. Your KYC needs to be updated. Otherwise, the wallet will be closed. I will link your bank account to the wallet. When I receive the money in the business account, I will make an e-speaker that will make the money received, I will make it not chargeable while transferring funds,” the police said.
According to the police, the fraudsters made audio and video calls on phone and WhatsApp and made them to share the screen and also took the OTP code and gave unauthorized access to the bank account.
