Kathmandu. In order to make the power supply of Kathmandu Valley more reliable, quality and sustainable, the capacity of the Matatirtha-Syuchatar 132 KV transmission line is being carried out.

The power supply in the Kathmandu Valley will be affected on October 7 and Sunday as new high-capacity wires are to be installed in place of old wires and conductors.

The 132 KV transmission line upgrading project under the Project Management Directorate of Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) is replacing the old conductor of Matatirtha-Syuchatar 132 kV double circuit transmission line with a new high capacity conductor.

For this purpose, the transmission line will be closed from 9 am to 5 pm on October 10 and on October 9.

A high-capacity HTLS conductor is being installed in place of the old low-capacity conductor. About four hundred meters of the conductor of one circuit of the double circuit line is yet to be replaced.

The completion of the works is expected to increase the electricity carrying capacity of the transmission line and help manage the increasing demand for electricity and make the power system more reliable.

The power supply to the substations including Matatirtha and Syuchatar will be affected during the shutdown period.

Necessary technical preparations have been made to complete the work within the stipulated time and the work schedule may be changed if the weather is unfavorable. The authority has apologized for the inconvenience caused to the customers due to the technical work.
