Vacant posts of 4 people’s representatives of Bhojpur and Kapilvastu after quitting party

Kathmandu. The post of four people’s representatives elected from the Communist Party of Nepal (UML) has automatically become vacant after they left the party.

The Election Commission issued a decision on October 22 informing about the vacancy of these posts.

No. In the local level elections of 2079, the Central Secretariat had informed the Commission with the decision to take action against the people’s representatives elected from the UML for quitting the party by acting against the party statute. On the basis of this, their posts were vacated as per Section 32 (1) of the Political Parties Act, 2073 and Rule 22 of the Political Party Regulations, 2074.

Nirmala Sherpa, deputy mayor of Bhojpur Municipality in Bhojpur district of Koshi Province, and Nabin Pradhan, deputy mayor of Bhojpur Municipality Ward No. 8, have been relieved of their posts. Nabin Pradhan, chairman of Ward No. 8 of Bhojpur Municipality.

Similarly, Laxmi Kumari Chaudhary, vice-chairperson of Vijayanagar Rural Municipality in Kapilvastu district of Lumbini Province, and Vijayanagar Rural Municipality ward no. Anwar Mohammad Musalman, ward chairman of Ward No. 5, have also fallen vacant.
