KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) President Gagan Thapa has said that the party cadres will have the same rights and status as the party president.
Stating that the party is one family, he said that there is only competition about who will take the responsibility. He made this statement while addressing the closed session of the 15th General Convention of the ongoing 15th General Convention in Kathmandu.
“Congress is a family. It is our competition within the family as to who will take responsibility. It is not that the winner wins everything, the loser loses everything,” he said.
He also said that the post of president or any other post is only a given responsibility for a time.
“I have as much rights and status within this party as my friends on the ground of the party,” Thapa said, “The chairman of the party is honorable and not honorable. This is just a time-honored responsibility.” ’
