Kathmandu. The auspicious time for keeping Ghatasthapana and Jamara under this year’s Bada Dashain is 11:47 am on Sunday, October 9.
According to the auspicious time released by the Nepal Calendar Determination Development Committee, Navratri will formally start from October 25. On the first day of Navratri, there is a tradition of keeping Ghatasthapana and Jamara and starting the worship of Navdurga.
On this day, Ashwin Shukla Pratipada falls. According to the Panchang, Chitra Nakshatra and Vaidhriti Yoga are on October 25. According to the committee, since Chitra Nakshatra and Vaidhriti Yoga fall, the related peace should be done before Ghatasthapana.
On the day of Ghatasthapana, the Kalash is ritually installed in the house and the puja room and the Jamara is kept by scattering barley. With this, Navratri begins with the worship of various forms of Goddess Durga for nine days.
This year, the Navratri festival will begin from October 16, Fulpati on October 14, Maha Ashtami on Kartik 15, Mahanawami on Kartik 17 and Bijaya Dashami on October 19.
According to the committee, the main time for receiving tika and jamara from the elders on the day of Bijaya Dashami is 10:26 am on October 19.
In this way, this year’s Bada Dashain will officially begin with Ghatasthapana at 11:47 am on October 9.
