Kathmandu: CPN (UML) Chairman KP Sharma Oli has urged the party leaders and cadres to further strengthen internal unity by managing minor misunderstandings and differences in the party.
In a virtual address to the secretariat members of the province and district committees of Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces on Wednesday, he directed the party organization to be more active and gear up for the upcoming elections.
Chairman Oli said that general disagreements and criticism of each other within the party should be taken lightly. Let us stop tolerating the kicks of enemies but not tolerating the words of our friends. UML should move ahead unitedly with common determination, leaving behind petty misunderstandings, he said.
He stressed on the need to move ahead by making the organization more systematic and active rather than claiming that there is no problem within the UML. He said that although the opponents expected the UML to split, the party was united in terms of ideology and organization.
Chairman Oli said that in the current political situation, the party should give priority to the protection of democratic rights and preparations for the upcoming elections. He urged the party cadres to focus on the upcoming elections and mobilize the organization.
Stating that there is no need to be disappointed with the result of an election, he also cited the example of former Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. We have only lost on one front. The truth is on our side, so we should move forward with confidence,” he said.
Instructions to be active in ‘Digital War’
Stating that efforts were being made to spread misinformation against the UML, Chairman Oli said that the party should also show an effective presence in the political campaign through the medium of information technology. He said that the leaders and cadres should play a role in taking the works and achievements of the party to the people in the right way.
He directed the party cadres to pay attention to organizational building, expansion of public relations and discipline by being active in their respective working areas.

In the virtual meeting, General Secretary Shankar Pokhrel said that the decisions of the third central committee meeting will be sent to the lower level soon through the party guidelines. He said that the process of renewal of party membership has been stopped for the time being and the documentation of the received details should be completed by mid-October.
According to General Secretary Pokharel, a program will be launched to connect youths with the party at the ward, municipal, district and provincial levels. The provision of removing the members who are absent from the post as per the statute will be strictly implemented and organizational activities will be carried out to strengthen relations with the people again.
Party vice-chairpersons Ram Bahadur Thapa Badalu and Bishnu Prasad Poudel and secretaries Bhanu Bhakta Dhakal and Padma Aryal were also present on the occasion.
