Kathmandu. Tribhuvan University has collected about Rs 16.50 crore from the teachers and employees who did not return to service as per the rules of the university after taking study leave. According to the Staff Administration Division under the Office of the Registrar of Tribhuvan University, about Rs 16.5 crore has been recovered from 75 situations so far.
The TU has initiated the process to recover the amount from the teachers and employees who have not returned to service after the study leave or have not completed the specified service period as well as to recover the amount by adding compensation to the salary, allowances and other facilities received from the University during the study leave.
Similarly, the university has said that the work of preparing the accounts of the additional cases and searching the records is being done. According to the available data, the amount of about Rs 21.50 crore in the accounts is stated.
According to the university, work is being done to search and study the personal records of the teachers and staff who came in contact. The process of recovering the amount to be paid to the university from such people is also going on.
TU has urged the teachers and employees who have not returned to service as per the rules after enjoying study leave or have not completed the stipulated period to contact the registrar’s office within the coming month of Poush. They can contact the registrar’s office by the end of January. They can also contact through the college.
TU has made it clear that legal action would be initiated as per the agreement made with the University and the prevailing university rules if the contact was not made within the stipulated time.
