Kathmandu. Prime Minister Balendra Shah arrived in New York of the United States of America today to attend the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly. Prime Minister Shah is scheduled to meet UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres today.
He will address the 81st session of the UN General Assembly tomorrow morning. Prime Minister Shah is preparing to raise the issue of the serious impact of climate change in Nepal. Nepal has stressed on the need for developed and high carbon emitting countries to provide just support to countries like Nepal, which are facing the impact of the climate crisis.
Similarly, Prime Minister Shah will raise the issues related to Bhotekoshi floods and climate-induced disasters, compensation and financial support for climate-induced damages, problems in mountainous countries, the situation of low-emission countries like Nepal, Nepal’s environmental contribution, international cooperation and goodwill, among others, in the UNGA.
Prime Minister Shah is scheduled to return home from the United States of America on Saturday.
