KATHMANDU: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) is set to start regular share trading from today.
NEPSE’s 72 trading member companies have started trading regularly from today after the problem seen in the data center ‘Data Hub Pvt Ltd’, where the servers of 72 trading member companies of NEPSE was resolved.
NEPSE suspended regular share trading on Monday following a technical problem in the data hub. The Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON) has directed NEPSE to study and investigate the technical problems and submit a report with necessary improvement measures.
Spokesperson of the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON) Niranjaya Ghimire said that the board has directed NEPSE to submit a report with improvements to prevent recurrence of such problems by September 28.
The board has also deputed a five-member inspection team led by the deputy executive director to identify the technical aspects and the reasons for the suspension of the transaction. The board has said that on the basis of the suggestions and reports received from the inspection team, it will take necessary reforms to make the stock market healthy, safe and transparent in the coming days.
Spokesperson Ghimire said that necessary steps would be taken to identify and minimize technical risks keeping in mind the reliability and safety of the trading system of the stock market.
