Kathmandu. Nepal LP The Gas Industry Association has directed the industrialists to sell LP gas in the Kathmandu Valley at the old rate (Rs 2,060 per cylinder). After the opening of an alternative track on the Prithvi Highway, the association has removed the additional amount for transportation fare and fixed the previous price.

On August 28, the road was disrupted after the Prithvi Highway was cut off by the Trishuli River in the Krishnabhir area. In order to ease the supply of gas in the valley due to the road blockade, industrialists were bringing gas from plants in Makwanpur, Parsa, Bara, Chitwan, Nawalparasi and Dhanusha by refilling cylinders and bringing gas to the valley through trucks through alternative routes. Issuing a press release on September 2, the association had requested to increase the transportation fare of Rs 2,060 per cylinder fixed by the Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) at Rs 2,060 and sell it at a maximum of Rs 2,165.38.

However, the association said that the compulsion to bring gas through alternative route has been removed as the transportation has come into operation with the opening of an alternative track along the obstructed road section and gas bullets have started entering the Kathmandu Valley directly.

According to a press release issued by the Association President Diwan Chand, all LPG industrialists have been urged to sell and distribute LPG in such a way that the price of LPG does not exceed Rs 2,060 as fixed by the NOC and inform their dealers accordingly.
