KATHMANDU: Chief of Army Staff (CoAS) Ashok Raj Sigdel has left for Beijing today on a week-long official visit to China.
During the visit, CoAS Sigdel will participate in the 13th Beijing Xiangshan Forum to be held in Beijing from September 13-19.
According to the Nepal Army, the Chinese visit is expected to further expand the military-to-military relations between Nepal and China and contribute to bolstering Nepal’s overall foreign policy through military diplomacy.
Before leaving for Beijing, Chief of Army Staff Sigdel was given a guard of honour by a contingent of the Nepal Army at the Army Headquarters. After this, Chief of General Staff Pradeep Jung KC bid farewell to him at Tribhuvan International Airport.
Chief of General Staff (CGS) Lt Gen Pradeep Jung KC will take charge of the acting Chief of Army Staff in his absence.
