Kathmandu. The floods have affected 18 schools in Rasuwa, Nuwakot and Dhading. Of these, 11 have been completely damaged and a loss of Rs 93.73 crore has been incurred.
According to the rapid damage and evaluation (RDNA) report prepared by the National Planning Commission and the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority, school buildings and educational properties have been damaged in this amount.
According to the report, 56 buildings of 18 schools have been affected. Of these, 152 rooms have been partially damaged and 156 have been completely damaged.
According to the local level, a school has been affected in Gosainkunda Rural Municipality of Rasuwa. 11 rooms of two buildings of the school have been completely damaged. In terms of value, this is a loss of Rs 3.75 crore.
Thirty-six rooms in six buildings of three schools in Uttargaya Rural Municipality of Rasuwa have been completely damaged. This is a loss of about Rs 12.29 crore.
Nine schools in Bidur Municipality of Nuwakot have been affected. Of the 32 buildings in the school, 61 rooms were partially damaged and 89 were completely damaged. This is equivalent to Rs 36.62 crore.
Three schools in Galchi Rural Municipality of Dhading have been affected. Out of these, 77 rooms of 10 buildings have been partially damaged and eight rooms have been completely damaged. This is a loss of Rs 10.61 crore. A school in Benighat Rorang Rural Municipality of the same district has been affected. Two rooms of two buildings of the said school have been completely damaged. Which is a loss of Rs 4.1 crore.
A school in Siddhalek Rural Municipality of the district has partially damaged 14 rooms of four buildings. This is a loss of Rs 1.43 crore. According to the report, Rs 24.93 crore in the form of educational property has been damaged.
