Kathmandu. Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) lawmaker Amresh Kumar Singh has objected to the working style of the Prime Minister and his secretariat.
Taking special time in the meeting of the House of Representatives on Thursday, he accused the incumbent government of being run in an advisory and dictatorial style rather than parliamentary.
MP Singh expressed dissatisfaction over the activities of the Prime Minister’s Secretariat, saying that the spirit of the parliamentary system has been attacked. He said, “Our parliamentary system is the Prime Minister’s system of government, but now it has changed to an advisory system of governance. I understood Singha Durbar, the center of the government, but now the center of the government has become a jwal. ’
He questioned on the basis of which section of the constitution and on the basis of which act such dictatorial rule is being run. MP Singh presented a horrific example of the interference of the government on the bureaucracy.
He summoned the Director General of the Department of Money Laundering and asked him to issue a Red Corner Notice within two hours.
He said that the style of intimidating the responsible bodies of the state has made a mockery of the rule of law.
Referring to Gauri Kumari Yadav, who resigned from the post of Industry Minister, Singh said that the Prime Minister and his secretariat have been pushing the ministers.
He said, “Gauri Kumari Yadav should have resigned on the same day when the police were deployed at night. The Prime Minister has the right to sack the minister if he is not satisfied with the work of the minister, but should the secretariat mobilize the police to arrest the minister? I am shocked to hear that I am an MP of which country?”
He claimed that the interference and dictatorial style of some people in the Prime Minister’s Secretariat in running the government has weakened democracy.
This serious allegation of MP Singh has created a big debate in the Parliament about the functioning of the government and the control of the Secretariat. He has also warned the government to get rid of the consultative system and follow the rules and procedures.
