Kathmandu. The bodies of 1,355 people who lost their lives in the Rasuwa floods have been recovered so far. The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority has given this information.
According to the NRA, various human organs are also included in the recovered bodies. So far, 98 bodies have been identified and handed over to their relatives, according to the NRA.
NRA Spokesperson Shanti Mahat said that 169 bodies were recovered in Rasuwa, 197 in Nuwakot, 70 in Dhading, 75 in Gorkha, 38 in Tanahun, 363 in Chitwan, 222 in Nawalparasi East and 221 in Nawalparasi West. She said, “As many as 4,996 people are reported to be out of contact due to the floods. The details of about 1,967 Nepalis who are out of contact with the District Administration Office in Rasuwa and around 2,340 in Nuwakot are updated so far. ”
According to him, about 100 security personnel and 589 foreign nationals are out of contact. Meanwhile, 13,396 people have been rescued so far.
According to the NRA, 6,672 injured people have been treated. Of them, 323 were treated in different hospitals and 228 have returned after treatment.
Currently, 3,533 people are affected by the floods in 39 holding centers set up in the affected areas. Of them, 669 are in Rasuwa, 2,651 in Nuwakot and 213 in Dhading.
According to the NRA, 21,402 security personnel have been mobilized for rescue, relief and security management. A total of 9,287 security personnel from the Nepal Army, 7,912 from the Nepal Police and 4,203 from the Armed Police Force have been mobilized for search, rescue and relief in the flood-affected areas.
