Kathmandu. Bidur Municipality of Nuwakot has decided to provide Rs 10,000 per family as house rent to the people displaced by the devastating floods in the Trishuli River via Bhotekoshi in Rasuwa.
The 134th meeting of the Bidur Municipality Executive Committee held on Sunday decided to provide the amount to the people of the municipality who have no habitable houses due to the floods.
The municipality has also decided to distribute relief materials including foodstuffs, clothes, kitchen sets and hygiene sets to the affected families.
The municipality has also warned of the risk that landlords may increase the rent by taking advantage of the disaster.
The municipality has made it clear that stern action would be taken as per the law if anyone is found charging more than the prevailing rent while renting a room or house.
