Kathmandu. More than 11,000 people who were trapped and stranded in the flooded Bhotekoshi River in Rasuwa district a week ago have been rescued so far.
According to the latest information provided by the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority, 11,379 people have been rescued. There are 3,925 people who are out of contact. The highest number of people from hydropower projects is 639, according to the authority.
So far, 939 bodies have been recovered in Rasuwa. According to the NRA, 23 bodies have been recovered in Rasuwa, 95 in Nuwakot, 55 in Dhading, 65 in Gorkha, 216 in Nawalparasi East, 168 in Nawalparasi West, 38 in Tanahun and 279 in Chitwan.
More than 21,000 security personnel have been deployed in search and rescue operations. According to the NRA, search, rescue and relief distribution are going on continuously.
