Kathmandu. More than Rs 1.91 billion has been collected in the 36 hours of the call for assistance to the Prime Minister’s Natural Disaster Relief Fund. According to the Ministry of Finance, the amount was deposited in the fund from Wednesday afternoon to 12 midnight on Thursday. <\/p>\n
The donors have deposited Rs 1.91 billion in the accounts of various 10 commercial banks. <\/p>\n
The government had declared the affected areas as crisis-hit areas after the floods caused huge loss of lives and property in the Bhotekoshi River that flows through the Nepal-China border on Wednesday morning. <\/p>\n
After that, the relief fund began to receive contributions from generous individuals and organizations. <\/p>\n
The government has designated the Ministry of Finance as the focal ministry for depositing funds in the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund and coordinating it. Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle is accepting the amount of donors who contribute one crore rupees or more to the institutional sector through himself. <\/p>\n
Similarly, the donors will be able to donate the cash assistance amount on the individual side by coming to the ministry. With this, the savings amount in the fund has reached Rs 4.09 billion. Earlier, the savings in the fund were Rs 2,17,25,09,759. <\/p>\n
In a span of 6 hours on Thursday, the ministry received 27.33 crore aid from private sector donors of Nepal. This assistance does not include the amount announced by various friendly countries. <\/p>\n
