KATHMANDU: A total of 827 vehicles have been penalized for breaching traffic rules in Kathmandu Valley. <\/p>\n<p>According to the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office, the action was taken in 24 hours till 6:00 am on August 14, 2008. <\/p>\n<p>The action includes 168 for speeding, 83 for driving under the influence of alcohol, 66 for violating red light, 55 for breaching red light, seven for violation of horn rule, four for violation of lane discipline and 20 for driving in poor condition. <\/p>\n<p>Similarly, four vehicles violating one-way rule and 420 vehicles violating other traffic rules have been taken to task. <\/p>\n<p>The traffic police have been carrying out regular checking and taking action to maintain road discipline and reduce road accidents.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Kathmandu.
