Kathmandu. A writ petition has been filed at the Supreme Court demanding the release of journalist Kishor Shrestha from jail. Saraswati Shrestha, wife of Shrestha, filed a writ petition at the apex court demanding the immediate release of Shrestha. <\/p>\n
KATHMANDU: The Kathmandu District Court has remanded Shrestha to judicial custody for three days for further investigation. <\/p>\n
The Kathmandu District Court had issued an arrest warrant against Shrestha based on a complaint filed against him based on a complaint filed against him by Jana Aastha.com. <\/p>\n
Police raided the offices of Jana Aastha Weekly and JanaAastha.com at Jhamsikhel, Lalitpur, and seized computers and some documents. Journalists and media organisations have protested Shrestha’s arrest. <\/p>\n
