Kathmandu. US President Donald Trump has been sued on charges that he sought financial gain by selling exclusive access to government policy posts on Truth Social. <\/p>\n
The Freedom of the Press Foundation and The Intercept filed the lawsuit in federal court yesterday, the AP news agency reported. <\/p>\n
They argued that it was “unconstitutional” to make the president’s posts available to customers who pay through the “Truth API” service operated by Trump Media & Technology, a subsidiary of Trump’s subsidiary, before the public or the media could see it. <\/p>\n
They argue that everyone should have equal access to the president’s posts on U.S. policy, war, tariffs and market influence. The fee for this service is up to $ 1 lakh per month. <\/p>\n
Seth Stern, head of advocacy at the Freedom of the Press Foundation, said it was “corrupt” and “unconstitutional” to sell primary access to self-generated news stories to benefit private companies he controls. <\/p>\n
