Kathmandu. Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle has urged industrialists and businessmen to expand their investment without any doubt.\u00a0He said this while interacting with more than three dozen industrialists who participated in the first of the series of discussions on budget implementation launched by the Ministry of Finance from Tuesday. <\/p>\n
Expressing the commitment that the government would make all kinds of facilitation for the spread of the private sector, he urged the government to expand investment, create employment opportunities and create an environment that something will happen in the country. He also urged the industrialists and entrepreneurs to be assured that the government would protect the investment. <\/p>\n
“You can confidently expand investment, create employment and tell us without any hesitation what the state needs to do,” said Finance Minister Wagle, adding, “The government is with you in all legal and practical difficulties.” It is the responsibility of the government to protect your investment. \u2019<\/p>\n
He said that the government’s budget of Rs 21.24 trillion should make the economy of Rs 66 trillion dynamic and the private sector is in its driving seat. <\/p>\n
Stating that the budget has made efforts for reforms to move ahead by openly investing the private sector, he urged the industrialists and entrepreneurs to clearly say that if any more policy hurdles need to be removed. <\/p>\n
For five hours on Tuesday, he listened to the problems of industrialists and businessmen. He also urged the private sector to be assured of resolving the grievances related to excise duty, customs duty, export subsidy and banking sector through mechanism. <\/p>\n
Stating that the implementation of the policies mentioned in the budget has gained momentum, he said the government wanted import substitution, security of private sector’s investment and collaboration with the private sector which can earn profits.
