Kathmandu. Banks and financial institutions (BFIs) can now take loans up to 80 percent of the vehicle’s cost to purchase electric buses used for public transport. <\/p>\n
KATHMANDU: Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has increased the loan-value ratio of public electric passenger vehicles to 80 percent. Accordingly, the buyer will have to manage at least 20 percent of the amount from his own source. <\/p>\n
Earlier, there was a provision to take a maximum of 60 percent loan for both public and private electric vehicles. The new system has given special concessions to electric vehicles in public transport. For personal electric vehicles, the old limit of 60 percent has been maintained. <\/p>\n
Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has also provided relief to industries and businesses affected by the Genji agitation. Banks can disburse up to 80 percent of the loans in case of replacement of commercial vehicles and transport vehicles damaged during the agitation. <\/p>\n
The central bank’s decision is expected to help increase investment in public electric vehicles and make it easier for the agitation-affected entrepreneurs to buy vehicles again.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
