Genji activist Miraj Dhungana and other groups are preparing to form a new political force.

During the government’s one-hundred-day review talks with Nepal News Bank, Dhungana said that it would be announced soon. He also said that he should not comment on the Balendra Shah-led government right now.

He said that continuous dialogue is being held with people from different walks of life for the formation of Naya Shakti. Dhungana has been supported by a large group including Dr Jagat BK, who was proposed as the health minister in the government formed after the Genji movement.

Talking to Nepal News Bank, campaigner Dhungana said that a separate political force would be formed before the upcoming local level elections and preparations for the same were being expedited.

During the conversation, he made it clear that the agitations being led by him so far were not for becoming ministers but to bring the country in a new rhythm.

“We wanted to postpone the March 21 election a bit. We wanted to delay the election a bit and have a broader ideological dialogue. We wanted to bring a lot of people together. We wanted to build a strong ideological force.

Because we wanted to make an ideological force by bringing together those who were satisfied, but when that did not happen, we became dissatisfied with the election,” he said.

Stating that the movement of the Genji generation led by them was for generational change, he said that now the time has come to put into practice the debate on generational transfer.

“One of the achievements of the movement is that there should be generational change in the minds and minds of the people. The outcome of the movement is whether the youth do it or the newcomers.

We see the need to strengthen it or put it into practice. Now there is no moral ground for the so-called old parties to come forward. So now it should be Young vs. Young, not Young vs. Old. That is why we are encouraging all to form a new force.

Our campaign is that new youth force should be formed and youths should show the way to the country,” he said.

He termed the results of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RPP) as a landslide victory. He also commented that the movement has displaced the older generation and the moral ground for the so-called old parties has ended. He said that the RSP has taken advantage of this.

Dhungana argued that the people were trying to break away from the old parties. “The results of March 21 are unexpected. People don’t like the old ones. But now the people will not always be satisfied with the opinion of the RSP.

At this time, the people are in a situation to divorce the old party. There is no work to be done. Now we are trying to inspire new people or make them a youth power. I would also like to say that all of us should come together with a new and clean thinking for the sake of generational change,” he said.

He said that he had high expectations from the Congress at one point of time, but he has not been able to realize it. He made it clear that he would not be prejudiced against anyone as he was an optimistic and positive youth.

Stating that Nepal now needs an idea suitable to its own soil, Dhungana said that he has started the debate in favor of ‘Advanced Democracy’.

During the conversation, he said that only 30-40 percent of the 100-point promise letter prepared by the government has been fulfilled so far, saying that it would not be appropriate to evaluate or comment immediately as the government has completed the ‘honeymoon period’.

Dhungana also questioned Prime Minister Balendra Shah’s statement and presence in the Federal Parliament. “The prime minister should be accountable in the parliament of a democratic country.

It is not that the party president or the foreign minister should speak in his place. He was elected as a person who knows, understands and is mature. So he has to come to speak for himself to be accountable,” he said.

He believes that such activities of the Prime Minister will harm democracy. He also suggested that the Prime Minister should take care of diplomatic decorum.

Kathmandu.
