Kathmandu. Namobuddha Municipality has organized a street drama based on social themes titled ‘Sahi Chhap’. <\/p>\n
The play was staged on the premises of Janak Secondary School at Bhakundebesi, Namobuddha Municipality-4 on Thursday (June 24) with the objective of creating awareness among school-age children, youths and the local community against social evils. <\/p>\n
Child marriage, drug abuse, cybercrime and other contemporary social anomalies that are still a challenge in Nepali society were made the main themes of the play. <\/p>\n
It is believed that the play, which presents information, entertainment and consciousness at the same time, will play an important role in bringing positive changes in the society. <\/p>\n
Harihar Adhikari, campus chief of Janak Multiple Campus, said that the play is very timely. <\/p>\n
He said, “The play ‘Sahi Chhap’ is very public awareness and relevant to the time. It has excellently covered child marriage and social phenomena that are prevalent in our society today. The play has become a must-see for parents, students and teachers alike. \u2019<\/p>\n
Shedding light on the relevance of the play, Taradevi Sunuwar, chief of Women, Children and Social Welfare Section of Namobuddha Municipality, explained the main reason behind the performance. <\/p>\n
“Child marriage is still rampant in Namobuddha Municipality. We have shown this drama because it is necessary to create awareness about the increasing use of social media in recent times and the accidents it can cause,” he said. <\/p>\n
The play is written and directed by theatre artist and director Puru Lamsal. The cast includes Prabhakar Dev Sharma, Kamal Mani Nepal, Anamika Lamichhane, Sagar Karki, Sewata Adhikari, Rupesh Mandal and Anju Khadka.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
