Nepali Congress lawmaker Jayapati Rokaya has said that the budget presented by the government has failed to adequately address the possibilities and needs of Humla and the entire Karnali province. <\/p>\n<p>Speaking at the meeting of the House of Representatives on Tuesday, Minister Bhattarai thanked the government for making arrangement to establish livestock quarantine at Hilsa of Humla in the budget. <\/p>\n<p>He, however, said that the quarantine alone is not enough and there is a lack of necessary policy and program for the commercialization, marketing and promotion of the products that can be exported from Karnali through it. <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The budget has completely ignored the potential of Humla and Karnali. In the current budget, it has been said that an animal quarantine will be set up in Hilsa of Humla. Thank you to the government for that. However, the government does not have any policy to commercialize the products that Karnali can export. \u2019<\/p>\n<p>Stating that Humla is still mainly dependent on air transport, he pointed out the need to give priority to the development of road infrastructure. <\/p>\n<p>He said that the budget has not given due importance to upgrade and blacktop the Karnali corridor to make transportation easy, safe and reliable. <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Humla is still dependent on air transport.
