Kathmandu. There has been gross negligence in service delivery, punctuality of employees and dress management in government offices. As many as 70 employees of Nepal Telecom were imprisoned in course of surprise monitoring conducted by the National Vigilance Centre on Tuesday. <\/p>\n
Not only in Nepal Telecom, the situation of various ministries and departments in Singha Durbar is also equally dismal. The vigilance center had monitored the service delivery of the office, staffers’ time, uniform and conduct. <\/p>\n
During the monitoring, 63 employees of Telecom (Kathmandu) alone were found not following the time or attending late. Similarly, 7 more people were found not wearing the designated office uniform. In this way, 70 employees of Nepal Telecom have been taken under the purview of action in a single day. <\/p>\n
The meeting also directed them to take action against them as per the Civil Service Act, 2049 BS and other prevailing laws and inform the Centre. <\/p>\n
This anomaly seen in the agencies that are supposed to provide efficient services in the field of technology and communication is the same in the ministries that make the policy. According to the Centre, there is a problem of discipline in the high government bodies inside Singha Durbar. <\/p>\n
As many as 10 staffers of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MoCIT) were found absent or late in the inspection. <\/p>\n
