Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Minister for Foreign Affairs Shishir Khanal is scheduled to visit India soon after Rabi Lamichhane returns from India. Matters related to Nepal-India concerns and priorities will be discussed during his visit to India. <\/p>\n
Rashtriya Swatantra Party (RSP) lawmaker Deepak Bohara said this during a meeting between Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and party president Lamichhane in New Delhi on Wednesday. <\/p>\n
Speaking to BBC Nepali Service on Wednesday evening, MP Bohara said, “Our Foreign Minister Sishir Khanal’s visit to India is scheduled immediately after the visit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that he will work by making a checklist on all the issues of concern, what are our priorities, what are the remaining and incomplete works that we have to do in cooperation with India.” Foreign Minister Jaishankar said. \u2019<\/p>\n
He, however, did not disclose the date of the foreign minister’s visit to India. <\/p>\n
The secretariat of Foreign Minister Khanal has also said that the date of the visit to India has not been fixed yet, but the date is being discussed through the Indian Embassy in Kathmandu. <\/p>\n
A member of Khanal’s secretariat told Onlinekhabar this morning, “It has not been decided when to go to India. \u2019<\/p>\n
<\/strong><\/p>\n Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RSP) President Lamichhane, who is on a visit to India since June 18, held a meeting with Modi for over an hour on Wednesday. On Tuesday, he met External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and other BJP leaders. <\/p>\n After the meeting, Modi wrote to X in Nepali and said that he fully agreed to Lamichhane’s desire to work together for a common and prosperous future. Lamichhane also shared through Facebook that he had a fruitful conversation with Modi. On Tuesday, he met External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP president Nitin Naveen. <\/p>\n Giving details of the meeting with Modi, lawmaker Bohara said that all issues including the border issues between Nepal and India were discussed. <\/p>\n According to Bohra, Modi had asked him to make a list of hydro, airport, border and other issues for discussion and said that these issues were also his priority. “We will discuss hydro, airport, border issues of Nepal, all the issues related to Nepal and India, make a list, bring it, make a dateline for it, the Prime Minister of India said that this work is high priority for me,” Bohara said. <\/p>\n According to Bohara, Prime Minister Modi had accorded high priority to Lamichhane’s visit and was ready to work with Nepal on every issue. <\/p>\n “I went to Nepal after becoming the Prime Minister for the first time. After 20 years, I had said in the parliament that it was an hour’s journey, but he remembered that it took 20 years and said that he would come to visit Nepal. “You have given high priority to this visit of Rabi Lamichhane,” Bohara said, “We are ready to work on every issue that happens with Nepal.” He repeatedly told this to party president Ravi Lamichhane. \u2019<\/p>\n Ravi is returning home on June 5 after completing his India tour.
