The Department of Food Technology and Quality Control has directed the government to recall mustard oil from the market, citing it to be of substandard quality. <\/p>\n<p>According to the information issued by the department, the samples collected during the market monitoring and inspection found that the mustard oil of Tez brand produced by Siddhartha Oil Industries was found to be of low quality. <\/p>\n<p>According to the Department, it has been directed to immediately return all the products of the concerned batch from the market after the oil was found not meeting the criteria set by the Government of Nepal while testing as per the Food Hygiene and Quality Act, 2081 BS. The department has also issued an order to stop the sale and distribution of the oil. <\/p>\n<p>The oil asked to be returned is of the Tez brand produced from imported mustard seeds. The oil has batch number 20, production date of March 28, 2008 and consumable period of 6 months. <\/p>\n<p>The product is produced by Siddhartha Oil Industries, based in Gurbaniya, Rupandehi. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Kathmandu.
