Kathmandu. Eligible candidates who have been waiting for the last two years with dreams of working in Israel have taken to the streets, accusing the government of trying to go against its previous promises. <\/p>\n

Youths staged a demonstration at Maitighar in Kathmandu on Tuesday, saying it was in utter confusion due to the dilly-dallying of the Department of Foreign Employment and policy ambiguity. <\/p>\n

The senior officials of the Department of Foreign Employment had been continuously assuring that the candidates who could not be selected in the lucky draw of 2081 BS but completed the entire process would be automatically included in the newly opened quota. <\/p>\n

However, recent media reports that 2,300 new quotas are being opened for Israel and that the old candidates will have to join the ‘lucky draw’ process from the beginning. <\/p>\n

The protesters complain that they have been forced to rely on luck from the beginning even after a long period of patience, mental stress and huge financial investment. <\/p>\n

Earlier, the agitating youths had submitted a memorandum to the Department of Foreign Employment, the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Security and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to fulfill their demands. <\/p>\n

However, instead of taking concrete decisions, the concerned bodies have been forced to come out on the streets from the door of the ministry, saying that they have shown irresponsible working style. <\/p>\n

They have demanded that a separate quota be reserved for deserving candidates who have been stalled for two years under the new quota instead of re-contesting under the new quota. <\/p>\n

The aggrieved youths have also warned to automatically include the old candidates in the new process without any hassle as promised by the department in the past and will intensify the agitation until the Government of Nepal and the Ministry of Labour take this issue seriously and give a proper and just solution to the old candidates. <\/p>\n
